“Declan came to Midleton College during our Art Week festivities and his workshop was a fantastic addition to the timetable of events. He worked with our Form 5 Art class and gave them an introduction not only to portraiture but also to using oil pastels which students can find quite tricky to use. His informative demonstration at the beginning of the workshop left students informed and excited to start their own work.
Students were guided through the process of creating a full portrait using oil pastels step by step under Declan’s guidance. He delivered the information using useful tips and tools to which the students could relate.
At the end of the six hour workshop, each student had created an unique portrait of which they are very proud. The standard of the workshop and Declan’s professionalism led to a very enjoyable and worthwhile experience for all who took part.”

We divided the day into three 2 hour workshops and the students thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Declan had a great rapport with the students and was able to command their attention throughout and they gained a new appreciation and love of oil pastels which they were then able to apply to subsequent art projects"
